讲座摘要/Abstract:

In this talk, we will present two classical results on lower bounds of Mahler measure of integral polynomials: one is Smyth's theorem for non-reciprocal polynomials and the other is Dobrowolski's general bound for any non-cyclotomic integral polynomial.

Following the work of Amoroso, David and Masser, we show a lower bound for the height of an algebraic number in a Galois extension of Q.
