Dr. Lintao Cai, The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering-AIMBE Fellow, IAAM Fellow, Professor of CAS “Hundred talents program”, Director of Institute of Biomedicine and Biotechnology, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Dr. Cai's scientific research areas include nanomedicine and biomaterials to explore in vivo molecular imaging nanoprobe, smart drug delivery system, micro/nanorobot and tumor-targeted phototherapy. He has more than 227 publications in peer reviewed Journals (i.e., Nature Nanotech, Sci Adv, JACS, Angew Chem, Adv Mater, etc, H index 64) with 14800 citations. He is a council member of Chinese Chemical Society (CCS), a Board of Director for Chinese American Society of Nanomedicine and Nanobiotechnology (CASNN),a member of American Chemical Society (ACS) and Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).

Damage-tolerant material design motif derived from asymmetrical rotation


讲座摘要/Abstract:

Micro/nanorobots are miniaturized smart devices that can convert internal energy or external physical stimuli into mechanical force to generate autonomous motion. A wide array of biocompatible micro/nanorobots are designed for targeted drug delivery and precision therapy largely depending on their self-adaptive ability overcoming complex barriers in vivo. We here report a series of micro/nanorobots with well-defined design and persistent driven force using bioengine, chemoengine, and external field (magnetic field, ultrasound, laser, etc.), which applied in precision therapy of tumor, inflammation, and cardiovascular diseases.
